Portugal moved 2,6 billion in mergers and acquisitions of companies in January

Of this amount, which represents a 273% increase compared to the first month of 2018, 13 million were investments from venture capital funds.

The value moved in Portugal in the business of mergers and acquisitions of companies soared 273% in January, when compared to the same month of 2019. In only one month, the transactions that had the amounts disclosed totaled 2,6 billion euros, according to the data released this Thursday by the international directory Transactional Track Record (TTR).

Of these more than 2 billion euros, 800 million euros are linked to investments made by private equity funds and 13 million euros to venture capital funds.

The purchase of OMTEL by the Spanish Cellnex Telecom, for 800 million euros, was the transaction that stood out in January. The business in question had the legal and financial advice of Vieira de Almeida (VdA), SRS Advogados, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, Uría Menéndez - Proença de Carvalho and Linklaters, PwC, Santander Corporate Investment Banking and Lazard.
